Kayla and Moose’s wedding weekend was a mix of cowboy cocktail and city chic. The couple wanted the two-day event to feel warm and welcoming, focusing on connection, ending with one big party.
The ceremony and cocktail hour took place at The Stampede Ranch, a private property about 40 minutes outside of the city of Calgary. With 135 years of history, The Stampede Ranch has seen many changes but has always stayed true to the cowboy way of life. The ceremony took place across the highway from the ranch with a stunning water and mountain backdrop. The Romantiks created a breathtaking floral display at the head of the aisle while guests watched the couples exchange their heart-felt vows while seated on benches that were made by handmade by the couple.
The cocktail hour was held at The Stampede Ranch. The wedding planning team from Lovebirds under the Town Hospitality Group brought in a food truck to compliment the horse d’oeuvres catered by Meraki Cuisine. Sugarwater bar served up signature drinks and cocktails while the littles honky tonk band entertained the crowd well into the evening.
Day two was the reception hosted at Major Tom Bar in downtown Calgary. The stylish rooftop destination sits 40 floors above the street and offers stunning sweeping city views. The Bar is meant to make people feel like they’re on top of the world. The mid-century-inspired decor by Frank architecture is both curated and comfortable. Once again, the Town Hospital Group alongside The Romantiks added to the space with beautiful red florals, classic signage and tall candles.
The couple got ready in their suite at The Fairmont Palliser hotel before walking the few blocks over to the venue to celebrate alongside their loved ones. Guests had hung up their cowboy cocktail attire and switched to Black Tie Formal for the evening. According to Grandma, it felt “like a James Bond movie!”
The couple’s goal of “one big rager” proved to be a success as the @localdj, @sex_man.dan and @basstombone kicked off the dance and kept everyone swaying to the music until after last call.
