Some stories remind us why we do what we do. Kat and Ty’s was one of them.
Their wedding was not just a celebration. It was a testament. To resilience. To love that heals. To legacy built from heartbreak and hope. Ty’s story is one that moved a nation. He survived the Humboldt Broncos tragedy and has turned that pain into purpose as a mental health advocate and speaker. But as he says, it was Kat who saved him. The love they built together is equal parts strength and softness. A partnership that has carried them through the unimaginable and into moments of pure joy.

Their connection became an inspiration to so many. Together, they went on to compete in and win Amazing Race Canada, showing the strength of their bond and the power of teamwork rooted in trust, laughter, and love.
Their wedding at The Norland Historic Estate in September felt like a full-circle chapter. Elegant. Emotional. Grounded in gratitude. Family traveled from across Canada and as far away as Austria to witness two people who had already defied the odds.

From their emotional first look to the platform they said their vows to the check in counter that welcomed guests, every detail told a story. Boarding passes led to tables named after cities that had meaning to them, places that shaped their journey together, a nod to the adventure they have shared both on screen and in life.
And in true Kat and Ty style, the reception turned into a VSCO Disco, a playful tribute to the DM that started it all on the photo sharing app. Laughter and music filled the venue late into the night as guests danced under the lights, a room alive with love, resilience and the kind of energy that only comes from people who have truly lived.
Their wedding was more than a union. It was a celebration of how far they have come and of everything they continue to stand for. A reminder that love, when chosen fiercely and lived fully, can turn even tragedy into triumph.
To Kat and Ty, a love story that proves sometimes it begins with a single message and becomes a life that inspires others.
